Scientific computing plan for the ECCE detector at the Electron Ion Collider

چکیده
The Electron Ion Collider (EIC) is the next generation of precision QCD facility to be built at Brookhaven National Laboratory in conjunction with Thomas Jefferson Laboratory. There are a significant number software and computing challenges that need overcome EIC. During EIC detector proposal development period, ECCE consortium began identifying addressing these process producing complete based upon detailed physics simulations. In this document, efforts produce discussed; furthermore, model resources required for future described.

The Electron-Ion Collider
The future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) is a proposed new facility to collide high-energy electrons with beams of polarized protons/light nuclei and unpolarized nuclei. We overview the goals of the project and key measurements at the EIC. We also briefly comment on recent developments of the project.
متن کاملGrid Computing in the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) scientific experiment
CDF detector measures the particles produced in proton – anti proton collisions at the Tevatron operating at s = 1.96 TeV The are two experiments at the Tevatron and this paper will describe the grid computing for CDF. The CDF detector is comprised of a tracking system located closest to the collision point inside of a solenoid magnet. Outside of the solenoid magnet, calorimeter detectors used ...
متن کاملAn Electron-Ion Collider at Jefferson lab
As explained in the oral presentation [1], the original plans for an electron-ion collider (ELIC) at Jefferson Lab involved the construction of two figure-of-eight rings, intersecting at up to four collision points, with a proton energy of 30-225 GeV (30-100 GeV/A for ions up to Pb) and electrons (and positrons) from 3 to 9 GeV [2]. Since the construction of such a facility must await completio...
متن کاملe+A physics at a future Electron-Ion Collider
s = 63 158 (40 110) GeV/A for e+p (e+A) collisions. Whilst gluon distributions have been studied extensively in nucleons at HERA, there is very little information on them for x < 0.1 in nuclei. The rapid increase in the gluon momentum distribution at low-x in nucleons found at HERA, if not tamed, leads to the violation of the Froissart Unitarity Bound at small-x. This can be achieved in non-lin...
متن کاملHot Quarks and Gluons at an Electron-Ion Collider
The nuclear wave-function is dominated at lowand medium-x by gluons. As the rapid growth of the gluon distribution towards low x, as derived from current theoretical estimates, would violate unitarity, there must be a mechanism that tames this explosive growth. This is most efficiently studied in colliders running in e+A mode, as the nucleus is an efficient amplifier of saturation effects occur...
